What a day this was! I'm not sure I've ever seen a bride smile so much as Milly did all day long. Despite flus, dead car batteries and adventures down slippery hills into hidden groves, this day was perfect. Milly and her bridesmaids got ready at Milly's mum's house with no shortage of bubbles, giggles and beautiful dresses. Then through warm sunshine we drove to Carrick Hill, which was so green, beautiful and an idyllic backdrop for their ceremony. Through happy tears and beautiful words they married in front of delighted family and friends all eager to celebrate and congratulate the happy couple.
Throughout their wedding day it was very important to Milly and Jimmy that they offer support to marriage equality through the words and gestures. From the groomsmen (& lady's) rainbow pride socks, to the bridesmaids "love is love" bracelets, as well as heartfelt words during the ceremony and speeches calling for equality and offering support. It was a beautiful touch not just for Milly & Jimmy, but all their guests, and close friend and couple in the bridal party. I 100% supported their beautiful displays of love for each other, their friends and the wider community. And hope that Australia is blessed with marriage equality soon too. xx
After portraits at Carrick hill and down the slippery grove at Brown Hill Creek we were escorted around the Adelaide Oval. When empty this place has a beautiful, quiet and surreal feel to it. Even with an excitable bridal party and photographers running around the ovals edges. Finishing up in one of the Adelaide Ovals absolutely stunning reception rooms. Who would have thought that hidden amongst the Adelaide Oval Stadium you would find such a beautiful and elegant space overlooking the iconic North Adelaide Church. It was the perfect space to end a perfect day. <3
