As I'm sure my friends & family will attest, I get so wrapped up in finishing my "work photos" that I can take twice as long (or longer...) to get personal & family photos done. But, after slowly whittling away at these, I'm so happy to have had time this long weekend to finish my boyfriends' sisters thirtieth birthday party! How perfectly timed was it that her birthday (almost) fell on the Diner en Blanc in Melbourne, a very cool (& kind of hip) big, posh picnic.

Such whimsy and wisdom all rolled into one awesome ball, so a Dr Seuss birthday party couldn't be anything but awesome! 'Thing Mum' Jacquie did an amazing job putting everything so generously together. We started the party with a cake smash, but April being too much of a lady thought the beautiful cake was just too good to mush. So she daintily played with balloons and ate her little fondant letters instead. Such a cutie!

So, on a cold and sleepy Sunday I decided to take some precious memories of my adopted kitty Señor, who won't be with us for very much longer.

I love to take artistic and beautiful portraits outdoors, to me you can tell so much more of a story in a beautiful location than you can in a studio. This, of course, isn't without it's lighting challenges. One of the hardest times to take a good photo outdoors is on a bright, hot, sunny day, at midday, with no shade. Just unforgiving, bright, white sunlight beaming straight down on top of you. Yesterday we decided to take up that midday challenge in beautiful Victor Harbour & Port Elliot.
Read MoreIt was an early start for some photos just after sunrise at the beautiful Kuitpo forest. The unexpected rain may have been a bit chilly, but it didn't stop us from having fun with the camera. Enjoy the little sneak peak :)

For lunch today I got to go out for a picnic with good friend & beautiful new mum Kelly. And of course, the cute-as-a-button little baby Emily came along too. I love taking photos outside, surrounded by beautiful, soft light - and Emily loved it too! With so much to look at and puzzle over. Enjoy this little sneak peak of portraits, and I'll share some more soon!
